Update on My Mom's Road to Recovery...

Hey guys! I would like to thank all of you who took a second out of your time to send prayers and well wishes to my mom!

For those that do not know, my mom had to get foot surgery because she had two fibromas (hard lumps) under her foot the size of golf balls! The surgery was a success, but her first day of recovery was not. There was a mishap in the middle of the night (4 AM), being dizzy and in a lot of pain, and as a result, I had to take her to the hospital.

Everything came out okay, and with my help, she will recover in a jiffy! Thanks again to those who sent their prayers and well wishes! My mom and I truly appreciate it! :-)

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

Happy Father's Day to all the men out there who take care of their kids and take care of other men's kids. I am fortunate to say that I have had my dad with me ever since I was born, and for that, I am forever grateful!

Happy Father's Day, daddy!

Sebastien De La Cruz: A Boy with Confidence Made of Steel!

After singing the National Anthem before Game 3 of the NBA Finals Tuesday night, some people on Twitter unleashed racist rants toward 11-year-old Sebastien De La Cruzbashing the San Antonio native for his Mexican-American heritage and his Mariachi outfit. (http://wfts.tv/195TE5F) Tweets began to disappear one by one when the Mexican-American was asked to come back to Game 4 of the NBA Finals Thursday night for an encore.

When asked about the racist rants against him, Sebastien responded:
"I knew that one day when I sing that people were going to judge me," he told Fox San Antonio. "That's why over the time I've grown, I've learned that you don't really care what people say about you, it's what you think about yourself." He went on saying "My father was actually in the Navy for a pretty long time and I actually salute him today for that. People don't know, they just assume, that I'm just Mexican, but I'm not from Mexico. I'm from San Antonio, born and raised -- a true Spurs fan."

It should not matter what one's heritage is. Here is a boy singing his heart out, proud to be an American because, yes, he was born in America, but why should it matter if he is Mexican, Black, White or Indian? We are all the same on the inside! Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but sometimes it can go way too far!

Tropical Storm Andrea!

I understand that everybody is entitled to their own opinions. I also understand that it is quite annoying getting text messages every half hour while asleep, but everybody that is complaining about how the tornado warning text messages kept them up all night needs to stop! If you guys did not get those messages and there was a series of tornados, there would be more to complain about! It is good to be safe rather than sorry! Know that!

Be safe, everybody! Take every warning as it comes with caution!

Check out some of the damages Tropical Storm Andrea left behind...
