My mom, @Clara_O_Pena, and I just saved a stray cat (I know, I know... We save a lot of animals LOL)!

The stray cat did not seem to be in good condition, so we called the Humane Society of Tampa Bay!

I would rather have Veterinarians at the Humane Society decide what is best for the cat, than leaving it on the street to become roadkill!

My mom and I did a good deed, today! :-)

Today, I had the opportunity to meet Chief Jane Castor (Chief Castor became the first female police chief of Tampa) AND Sergeant Eric Diaz!

Sergeant Diaz demonstrated a video of Chief Castor and himself getting tazed, and while Chief Castor tumbled on her knee after getting tazed ONCE, Sergeant Diaz stood there like a champ after getting tazed THREE times in a row! Whoa...

It was truly an honor!

'I Got Flowers Today'

I got flowers today.
It wasn't my birthday or any other special day.
We had our first argument last night, and he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt me.
I know he is sorry and didn't mean the things he said.
Because he sent me flowers today.

It seemed like a nightmare.
I couldn't believe it was real.
I woke up this morning sore and bruised all over.

Last night, he beat me up again.
And it was much worse than all the other times.
If I leave him, what will I do?
How will I take care of my kids?
What about money?
I'm afraid of him and scared to leave.

Today was a very special day.
It was the day of my funeral.
Last night, he finally killed me.
He beat me to death.
If only I had gathered enough courage and strength to leave him, I would not have gotten flowers...today.

Today, I had the opportunity to meet Corporal Terry Martin from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office SWAT team!

Corporal Martin brought in real equipment he uses as a SWAT team officer, and out of 320 students in the class, guess who he chose to try on his SWAT vest and helmet... MOI!!!

Going through these experiences is truly a blessing!
