My Mom and I Walk at the Avenue Spring 2014 Fashion Show!

 

Hey guys! It has been a while since I posted something on my blog!

For those of you that have me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter, you guys read that my mom and I were a part of a fashion show for a second year in a row! I think we did a swell job, if I do say so myself! My mom and I pulled some moves during our catwalk (that is why some of the photos seem blurry LOL!).

Happy New Year, everybody!!!

It is a tradition in the Almodovar household to watch the crystal ball drop in Times Square for the New Year! Ugh, I am homesick!

Anyways... I am so proud to see a Bronx native like myself [Sonia Sotomayor] pressing the button for the crystal ball to drop! That must have been such an honor! She is truly an inspiration, and is now someone new I look up to. My goals for 2014 and in my future is to be as successful as she is. If she can do it, I can do it too! I am going to take this new year by storm, just you wait and see!

Friday Night Movie: 'Fast and Furious 6'!

Hey guys!

I watched Fast & Furious 6 yesterday and it was freaking awesome! All I have to say (so I will not spoil the movie for everyone) is that the actors deserve every single penny that this movie earns! I do not doubt that this movie will rake in millions during its first week at the box office; it was THAT good!

There were a lot of things that were very superficial (like my mom said: "Only in movies!"), but it did have me on the edge of my seat most of the time! There were so many twist and turns (in the plot and... on the streets LOL)! Will there be a Fast & Furious 7? Hmmm... You guys are going to have to watch it for yourselves to find out! ;-)

'I Got Flowers Today'

I got flowers today.
It wasn't my birthday or any other special day.
We had our first argument last night, and he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt me.
I know he is sorry and didn't mean the things he said.
Because he sent me flowers today.

Last night, he threw me into a wall and started to choke me.
It seemed like a nightmare.
I couldn't believe it was real.
I woke up this morning sore and bruised all over.
I know he must be sorry.
Because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today, and it wasn't Mother's Day or any other special day.
Last night, he beat me up again.
And it was much worse than all the other times.
If I leave him, what will I do?
How will I take care of my kids?
What about money?
I'm afraid of him and scared to leave.
But I know he must be sorry.
Because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today.
Today was a very special day.
It was the day of my funeral.
Last night, he finally killed me.
He beat me to death.
If only I had gathered enough courage and strength to leave him, I would not have gotten flowers...today.

Master Sergeant Terri Bacon read to the class the poem by Paulette Kelly, and I promise, the ending of the poem literally gave me goosebumps!

I can't believe what I just have been informed...

My boyfriend got hired to another job, WOOHOO!!! I never doubted you, but to know that you already had a job and be offered to ANOTHER one... I'm blown!

I'm SO proud of you, baby! You came a very long way to get to where you are now! Sadly, and thank God, you had to get rid of the job that gave you wings (LOL), but hopefully, it's all for the better!
